Right Side Up Talent Spotlight: Emily George

The Right Side Up Talent Spotlight series highlights the incredible talent within our team, from full-time employees to growth marketing consultants in our collective. This month, we’re excited to introduce Emily George, our standout Talent and Legal Operations Manager.

When Emily started her RSU journey seven years ago, she joined a tight-knit team of 12. Over the years, she’s watched the team grow, grow and grow—to the point that taking a group photo now requires a solid ten minutes of choreography.

In her role, she works across teams to source and place exceptional talent while helping move a steady stream of agreements across the finish line. It’s a complex job that requires equal parts organization, adaptability, and people skills. Emily has those in spades. 

Based in the East Bay, Emily balances her workdays between a home office and a local co-working space. Outside of those two places, you’ll often find her exploring the Bay’s endless options of amazing foods and sights—or cheering on her three boys at basketball games.

Tell us a little more about your role and time at Right Side Up.

I’m the Talent and Legal Operations Manager at Right Side Up. I work across many teams at RSU to source and place great talent with our clients and help move a plethora of agreements across the line.

Where do you call home and what is your work environment like?

Home is the East Bay. I lived in Oakland for 15 years and now live in Walnut Creek. I love the warmer summers, but I miss the great bread! I split my time between my home office and a co-working space part-time, and it’s great to get out of the house.

Give us your take on growth marketing today: What excites you, how have things changed since you got started, and where do you think it’s headed?

When I joined RSU seven years ago, we were a team of 12, and watching us grow since then has been incredibly exciting. Today, we see our consultants rising to the challenge of integrating AI into their workflows, whether they're natural builders or eager learners finding creative solutions for our clients.

We're focused on striking the right balance between efficiency and innovation while preserving the personal, human excellence that has always defined our work.

What has the structure/flexibility of Right Side Up’s model allowed you to do outside of work?

I have three awesome sons, and the flexibility of remote work has allowed me to be at basketball games and experiment with pizza dough recipes.

What did you want to be when you grew up?

If I had any kind of singing voice, I’d never give up trying to play Madame Thénardier on Broadway!

What do you like to do for fun in your geographic area?

The Bay Area is a never-ending discovery of wonderful foods and beautiful vistas.
